PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A new study says most fast-food, kids menu items sold in the U-S contain too many calories.

The average item on the so-called kids menu contained 147% more calories than what is recommended by experts.

French fries were the worst offenders with an average of almost 300 calories, which is almost triple the amount recommended for one serving.

Researchers believe that current kids menu offerings are likely partly responsible for childhood obesity.
