Bragging about your workout or just sharing your exercise regimen on social media could help other people.

Researchers at MIT say exercise, specifically running, is contagious.

They tracked more than one-million runners over five years, their locations and also their social networks.

They found sharing running distance and pace helped to motivate other people.

For instance, if one person ran 10 minutes more than usual, their friends would typically also run longer than their usual.
