Forbes has recognized a young West Philadelphia native for her work in medicine.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Forbes has recognized a young West Philadelphia native for her work in medicine.

Kiah Williams received a $500,000 grand prize in the magazines social entrepreneurs' competition.

She received the check at the Forbes under 30 summit taking place in Center City.

Williams is 29-years-old and the co-founder of SIRUM.

The online platform provides life-saving medications to low-income patients.
