HAVERFORD, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County man has taken his model train hobby to a whole new level.
Bruce Feldman has been collecting and perfecting his trains for more than 30 years.
His home railroad runs through nearly his entire basement.
"This particular layout has taken me almost 4 years to put together," said Feldman.
Until his senior year of high school, Feldman lived in Boston and his love of trains goes back to his childhood.
"When I was about 3 years old, in 1951, I guess in those days they primarily had wind up trains. So from age three to age 66, I'm still playing with trains," he said.
However Feldman is doing more than playing, he's created cargo and passenger trains on nearly two miles of track and he's collected a total of 2,000 train cars.
On the lower level of Feldman's home, you step into miniature Boston.
There's Boston Station, Beacon Hill and the shops along Newbury Street.
There's also the city's subway below, Fenway Park and billboards advertising the Boston Pops.
Having grown up in Boston, Feldman's wife Adrienne is the Philadelphia connection.
He and Adrienne met at Temple University.
"Will we expand to include Philadelphia? We're going to try," said Adrienne Feldman.
It's a reminder of Christmas's past, the memories of childhood locked up in the toys we love.
Yes we Baby Boomers are proud of our holiday trains.
