Jim Gardner in Las Vegas: President Trump visits victims, praises first responders
LAS VEGAS (WPVI) -- Day three following the largest mass shooting in American history and the city of Las Vegas attempts to bring back some normalcy.
Police opened roads around the location of the attack, giving the public a glimpse at the scene.
Having visual access has attracted many people to the scene, both the press and the public.
Police and FBI still have a large presence outside the concert venue, while the investigation continues inside.
A memorial to the victims continues to grow approximately one block from the scene.
President Trump visited Las Vegas on Wednesday. Reportedly this trip had none of the controversy that plagued his recent trip to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico.
First, Trump stopped at University Medical Center, where he spent time with victims and praised the doctors and nurses who cared for them.
Then he stopped at Las Vegas Police Headquarters to speak with the first responders.
Lastly, he addressed the nation saying, "In the darkest moments, what shines most brightly is the goodness that thrives in the hearts of our people."
