Local cleaning and restoration service heads to Texas. Jeff Chirico reports during Action News at 11 p.m. on August 31, 2017.

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County cleaning and restoration service that helped during Hurricane Sandy will soon be headed to the flood zone in Texas.

They will also be taking donations with them.

Throughout the day Thursday, donations rolled in.

Every two minutes there were cars pulling up, each car containing supplies for folks displaced by flooding in Texas.

Diapers, baby formula and cases of water filled up the garage at Pro Action Restoration in Ridley Township.

Company president Mike McIntyre decided to collect goods to deliver when he and his team head to Texas this weekend to help dry out homes.

"I didn't know the outpouring we were going to get," he told Action News. "I thought we were going to drive a box truck of supplies. (It's) unbelievable to me."

The Ridley Township Police Association made one of the first deliveries, and dozens more followed.

A number of people told us they believe donating things is the least they can do.

Lynn Blair contributed. She said, "I want to cry. I saw the home with elderly women just sitting there, and I wanted to get them myself,"

The donated diapers will go to the Texas Diaper Bank, a nonprofit organization that's preparing emergency diaper kits for displaced families.

According to its website, these are items other emergency relief organizations don't provide.

Pro Action Restoration will be collecting items until Saturday.

Meantime in Downingtown, Chester County, Action News found another huge response to the crisis.

VFW Post 845 turned into a sorting center of donations.

Clothing, batteries and paper products will be loaded into a trailer headed south.

The community's response pleasantly surprised organizers.

LaVonne Malandro of the VFW said, "Hopefully we can make everything fit. And if not, we'll make a way to get it there."
