MOUNT AIRY (WPVI) -- A man is dead after police say a gunman shot from inside a vehicle into another car more than two dozen times in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia.

Police say at least 28 bullets were fired into the victim's driver's side door and window around 6:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim's Dodge Charger came to a stop on the 100 block of East Gorgas Lane. When police arrived, the engine was still running.

Officers broke through the window to pull him out and get him to the hospital.

The 33-year-old victim died at the hospital.

So far, there's no description of the suspect or getaway vehicle.
