Man steals woman's likeness online to solicit sex in her name: Dann Cuellar reports on Action News at 11 p.m., November 14, 2017 (WPVI)

A 27-year-old woman recently received a most disturbing visitor at her New Britain Township, Bucks County doorstep.

"A man she does not know had shown up at her doorstep with a bottle of alcohol and a love note," said Det. Cpl. Jeff Cummins with the New Britain Township Police. "He was basically expecting to have sex with the woman."

Soon thereafter the woman started receiving emails and messages on the social media website ChatStep from other men she did not know, each of them expecting to take part in sadomasochistic acts.

"These men were expecting bondage," said Cummins. "The one man who showed up at her house had brought handcuffs with him."

Cummins, a cybercrime specialist, would soon trace the origin of the mystery to Kevin McCreary of Hilltown, Bucks Co.

McCreary is a friend of the victim on ChatStep.

Police said he lifted her profile pictures from her ChatStep page and then superimposed them over the naked bodies of other women engaged in pornographic acts.

"Then he was sending these collages to people on social media claiming to be this 27-year-old woman and it was not her," said Cummins.

New Britain Police Chief Robert Scafidi said this could have led to a dangerous situation.

"The type of people attracted to these posts were not your average people that you really want to know," he said.

Police said when they asked McCreary why he did it, he said that he likes posing as other people.

Police are now wondering if there are other victims and are asking anyone who recognizes McCreary and thinks they were a victim to please come forward.

McCreary has been released from jail on $100,000 unsecured bail.

A condition of his release is that he have no contact with the victim.

A preliminary hearing on the matter is tentatively scheduled for December 1.
