BENSALEM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police say they have located the Philadelphia mother who allegedly left her 7-month-old baby alone inside a Bensalem hotel room and never returned.

Bensalem Police say 34-year-old Erica Avila-Lopez was found at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia undergoing some kind of medical procedure.

On Saturday afternoon, surveillance video at the Knights Inn allegedly captured her walking away from her hotel room, then walking barefoot down southbound Route 1, never to return to the hotel.

Nearly 24 hours later, on Sunday afternoon, cleaning crews went into her room and found her baby inside, along with drug paraphernalia, crack and heroin.

Police say hotel staff entered the room after Avila-Lopez failed to check out.

At this point we are told that the baby was taken to St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne for evaluation and is now in protective custody.

The baby was not injured.

Avila-Lopez is facing child endangerment and drug charges.
