1 dead after car and pickup truck collide in New Castle Co.

Police say one person is dead after a car and pickup truck collided in Brandywine Hundred, Delaware late Wednesday night.

The accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. at Marsh Road and Washington Street.

A car and pickup truck collided at the intersection, causing the truck to roll over and land on its roof.

Police say the driver in the truck was thrown from the vehicle.

He sustained serious head and internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car slammed into a tree after the collision.

The driver, a 27-year-old man sustained arm and head injuries.

He was taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The victims names have not been released.
