WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) --A fatal police-involved shooting is under investigation.
It happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of Tulip Street in Wilmington.
Police said a man, with a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound, was armed with a gun, and ignored officers' request to put it down.
Police shot the man, who died at the scene.
The Department of Justice is investigating the incident, as it does with all cases where an officer discharges a firearm resulting in injury or death.
