Police in Pleasantville, New Jersey say at least one person is injured after a shooting at a youth football field.

PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Pleasantville, New Jersey say at least one person is injured after a shooting at a youth football field.

Police were called around 7:25 p.m. Thursday to the Jokers Football Field for shots fired.

Arriving officers confirmed a shooting took place across the street from the field at Fernwood and Jefferson avenues.

They say at the time, children were practicing on the field.

Police say the bleachers were struck by gunfire but they did not find any shooting victims at the scene.

Shortly after the incident, a person arrived at Atlantic City Regional Medical Center City Campus with a gunshot wound to his left shoulder.

Police say the victim was at the field.

The victim knew he had been shot and took himself to the hospital.

Police say the injury does not appear to be life threatening.

Police are searching for the shooter.
