TINICUM TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- One person was injured in an accident on I-95 in Tinicum Township, Delaware County after a car crashed into a tow truck.

It happened around 1:45 a.m. Sunday on I-95 northbound near Route 420.

Police say a driver called a tow truck company to help with a flat tire.

Just after the tow truck driver helped repair the flat tire, police say the driver of another vehicle traveling north on I-95 lost control and slammed into the rear of the flatbed truck.

Firefighters worked for about 20 minutes to free the driver from under the tow truck.

The injured driver was taken by medics to Crozer Chester Medical Center.

The flatbed driver and the person who initially called for help were not injured.
