1 killed in Deptford dump truck accident

DEPTFORD, N.J. (WPVI) -- One person is dead after a crash in South Jersey that involved a Deptford Township vehicle.

The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Delsea Drive and Fox Run Road.

Police say an 82-year-old man who was making a U-turn on Delsea Drive (Rt. 47) died following a collision with a Deptford public works department dump truck traveling behind him.

The driver of the truck was not injured but was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Delsea Drive was shut down for hours because of the crash.
