VIDEO: Couple dance Bachata to induce labor
A local couple danced the Bachata to induce labor.

There are a lot of old wives tales about speeding along labor and delivery, but one Northeast Philadelphia couple says it's simple: just dance.

And boy, do Suezette and Yovanys have some moves.

At the advice of their doula, or birth coach, Nyra they did the Bachata, a style of dance from the Dominican Republic, to get the baby to drop and get that delivery going.

Even more impressive than their rhythm? Suezette's contractions were 3 minutes apart during the dance!

And even though dad, Yovanys, tells Action News Suezette was in "crazy pain", she still managed to make labor look good.

The video was taken back on Saturday, January 2nd at Pennsylvania Midwifery on 8th and Spruce Streets.

And it looks like the Bachata really did the trick!

Nine hours after Nyra captured their moves, the couple welcomed their first child into the world.
