Man critical after shooting in Grays Ferry

Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting that left a man shot and wounded in the Grays Ferry neighborhood.

Officers responded around 10:45 p.m. Thursday along the 1200 block of South Ringgold Street.

They arrived to find the victim with a gunshot wound to his mid-section.

Medics responded to the scene, but the victim was taken by private auto to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police followed the vehicle to the hospital. They are holding the car for evidence.

So far, there is no world on a suspect or motive for the shooting.

Police are trying to determine if the man was shot at the Ringgold Street location.
