The Sweat fitness gym on Passyunk Avenue is now offering Sweat X - a high-intensity workout with challenging exercises.

QUEEN VILLAGE (WPVI) -- A new workout made its debut in Philadelphia Monday.

The Sweat Fitness gym on Passyunk Avenue is now offering Sweat X, a high-intensity workout with challenging exercises, but with small classes of 10 students and 2 or 3 instructors.

The goal is to provide more one-on-one attention, to prevent the injuries happening in other extreme workouts.

"We take out that competitive nature where we don't say more reps, more weight," says Chris Harris, the founder/creator of Sweat X.

"We worry about hammering the technique, over and over and over," he continued.

Sweat X is only being offered at the Queen Village gym for now; classes are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

More classes will be added, and it will be rolled out soon at other Sweat locations as the demand rises.
