Poison control centers say calls about children who ingested the nicotine liquid tripled in 3 years.

WASHINGTON, D.C (WPVI) -- A bill that would require childproof packaging for e-cigarette liquids is on its way to President Obama's desk.

The House passed the bill by voice vote Monday night.

Poison control centers say calls about children who ingested the nicotine liquid tripled in 3 years.

Many e-cigarette liquids are colored and flavored like candy.

Nicotine can be deadly for children.

Supporters say the new law is common sense.
