Driver, pregnant woman injured in crash in University City

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- A driver and a pregnant woman were injured after a crash in the University City section of Philadelphia.

The crash occurred before 2:30 a.m. Thursday on the Schuylkill Expressway at the University City exit.

Police say the 28-year-old driver, along with a 25-year-old woman who is two months pregnant, were heading westbound when he lost control of his Ford pickup truck.

The truck flipped over the center median, and landed in the opposite direction.

Both victims were taken to Jefferson Hospital with various injuries. They are in stable condition.

Police are working to determine what caused the driver to lose control.
