Man hospitalized after vehicle crashes on icy road in Torresdale

TORRESDALE (WPVI) -- A man is hospitalized after an accident police said icy roads are to blame in the city's Torresdale section.

The crash happened just before 8 p.m. Sunday in the 3900 block of Grant Avenue.

Police said icy conditions forced the driver to lose control of the vehicle and hit a utility pole.

The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Aria Health Torresdale for nonlife-threatening injuries.

Grant Avenue is closed between Frankford Avenue and Leon Street, police said.
