Police are investigating a knifepoint robbery near Temple University?s campus in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a knifepoint robbery near Temple University in North Philadelphia.

It happened Wednesday morning at West Atlantic and North Camac streets, near Temple's Health Sciences Campus.

Police say a 40-year-old woman was approached by a man with a knife who stole her purse and cell phone.

The woman was not hurt.

Police say she is not a Temple University student.

The university did send out a message about the robbery alerting students in the area.

Temple University Police and investigators from Philadelphia Police East Detectives were working to put together a description of the suspect.
