A firefighter was injured battling a Wilmington fire.

WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- Crews battled an apartment fire in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened around 7:50 p.m. Monday on the 500 block of North Rodney Street.

The fire broke out in at a three-story apartment building with five apartments.

It took crews a little more than an hour to get the fire under control.

The Red Cross is assisting six adults with housing.

One firefighter sustained a shoulder injury after slipping and falling while working inside the home and was transported to Wilmington hospital for evaluation.

He has been released.
