CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Drones could be deployed across Philadelphia in an effort to improve public safety.
A study by the city controller's office found that drones would be a useful tool in detecting dangerous buildings.
City controller Alan Butkovitz says drones would not replace licensed inspectors.
He says the technology could enhance workers' abilities to perform their jobs quicker and more safely.
Drones could also be used to track traffic conditions to increase emergency response times.
