Narcan's new lifesaving tool

FOLSOM, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police officers in Delaware County will be the first in the world to carry a new form of the heroin antidote known as "narcan".

It is a nasal spray.

It's easier and faster to administer.

Nasal Narcan is being distributed by Adapt Pharma of Radnor.

It was only just approved by the FDA in November.

Delaware County officials say officers have already saved more than 170 lives since they started using the original Narcan in a syringe, back in 2014.
