The Runnemede school crossing guard who got in trouble for sticking her neck out about the snow conditions will have a chance to clear her punishment.

Action News reported this week how Gina Bowne texted the mayor of Runnemede, while on duty, asking to get an intersection cleared.

The 16-year veteran crossing guard was worried about children's safety, but her police supervisors say she broke the chain of command and did not follow proper reporting procedures.

The chief of police offered Friday to dismiss her 2-day suspension for "insubordination" if no further infractions occur.
