A cat finds the perfect home, and a rescue group gets some celebrity attention.

Claire Tierney adopted Dasher in 2010.

When she met Dasher at Main Line Animal Rescue, it was a "purrrfect" fit.

"He came up to me. I pet him for a little bit. He'd run away and then he'd come back and I'd pet him and then he'd run away again, so I kind of knew he was the one," said Claire.

Dasher took a little time to warm up.

Claire said, "He hid under the bed for a good three months. He was very scared."

But the staff at Main Line Animal Rescue had coached her on how to cope.

"The staff here told me if he was under the bed or under a couch, lay on the floor and talk to him. I did that every night for three months. And, then one night I was sitting on the floor watching TV and he came out, and let me pet him. And, then it was working. It was good from there," said Claire.

And, Claire says Dasher was definitely worth the extra work.

"He's just such an amazing cat. I've had other animals in the past but there's just something about Dasher," she said.

The animals at Main Line Animal Rescue have also captured the hearts of celebrities, like Whoopi Goldberg.

"She fell in love with a dog that we brought onto The View and who ended up being blind and deaf," said Leslie Briley, Board Chair at Main Line Animal Rescue.

There are still others looking for homes.
