Home Depot hiring 1,500 in Philadelphia for spring

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Retailer Home Depot is hiring 1,500 associates in the Philadelphia area in anticipation of the spring season, its busiest time of the year.

The openings for the 33 area stores include sales, cashiers, operations, and online order fulfillment positions.

Home Depot says college students, retirees and veterans are encouraged to apply.

The openings are both permanent part-time and seasonal positions in the company's stores and distribution facilities.

Nationwide, the home improvement retailer is hiring 80,000 associates total in its nearly 2,000 stores.
