Pedestrian struck and killed in Delaware

TALLEYVILLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police say a 76-year-old man was struck and killed by a vehicle in Talleyville, Delaware.

The accident happened after 4:30 a.m. Wednesday on the 1700 block of Foulk Road.

Police say a 36-year-old driver in a Hyundai Sonata was traveling southbound on Foulk just south of Silverside Road when the victim stepped into the path of the vehicle.

The victim was struck by the right front of the vehicle and thrown to the ground.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver did stop nearby.

It is not clear if the weather conditions contributed to the crash.

Police have not released the victim's name.
