Mom who faked cancer sentenced in beating of 11-month-old daughter

A Bucks County woman has been sentenced in connection with severely beating her 11-month-old daughter.

Twenty-six-year-old Ashley Reichard was ordered to serve up to 12 years in prison for child abuse.

Police say her baby suffered a skull fracture, a broken jaw, burns and other injuries.

Reichard had also told police she was suffering from Stage II ovarian cancer, but authorities later determined that she was lying in an attempt to gain sympathy.
