NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Students were forced to evacuate and some were left displaced after a water pipe burst in a Temple University dorm in North Philadelphia.

The dorm, located in the 1900 block of Liacouras Walk, houses 475 students.

Officials say the extreme cold weather this weekend caused the pipe to burst in the dorm.

Evacuated students were sent to the Tomlinson Theater of Temple before being allowed to return.

Four units sustained enough damage to displace the students occupying them.

Those students have been put up in alternative housing, officials say.
