Honored for honoring heroes

PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A woman who makes sure american heroes are given a proper welcome home, was honored Thursday night as a hero herself.

Maria Hyland of the group "A hero's welcome" was honored for her work.

Hyland was presented with the "local hero award" by the "Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge", located in Phoenixville.

Hyland's group which was founded in 2007 by her daughter who's now a marine.

"A Hero's welcome" has chapters in 11 states.
