Road with Trees

PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Museum of Art received a major gift.

The late philanthropist and art collector Daniel Dietrich donated more than 50 major works of American art including this painting Road with Trees 1962.

It was the very first painting of 20th century artist Edward Hopper.

The museum also received a 10 million dollar endowment from Dietrich who was a committee member at the museum.
