A 19th District Philadelphia police officer is recovering after being hurt in a crash.

WYNNEFIELD (WPVI) -- A 19th District Philadelphia police officer is recovering after being hurt in a crash.

The sergeant's cruiser slammed into a pole while he was on his way to help another officer.

The accident happened at 3 a.m. Saturday on Parkside Avenue at Bryn Mawr Avenue in the city's Wynnefield section.

The 45-year-old officer was treated and released at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for nonlife-threatening injuries.
