NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA -- Police are trying to determine if a man arrested in connection to the robbery of a Northeast Philadelphia Wawa is also responsible for another crime.

The robbery occurred around 3:20 a.m. Sunday at the Wawa on the 1800 block of Bergen Street.

After a foot chase, police arrested a man that matched the suspect's description given by a Wawa employee.

Police say the man may be responsible for another robbery earlier in the morning.

Around 2:45 a.m., the 7-Eleven on the 1400 block of Cottman Avenue was also robbed.

In both robberies, police say the suspect entered the stores with a crowbar and demanded money and cigarettes.

No one in either store was injured in the robberies.

A police officer, however, suffered a knee injury during the foot chase that led to the arrest.
