Police: West Philadelphia home invasion suspects tie up, assault victim

A man was injured during a home invasion in West Philadelphia.

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a home invasion in West Philadelphia that left a man injured.

Officers say two men wearing dark hoods forced their way into the victim's apartment at 47th and Chestnut streets around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

The suspects began punching the the 33-year-old male victim, then tied him up, using a phone cord, and covered his face.

Police say the suspects got away with two cell phones, a wallet and car keys. They did not take his vehicle, however.

The victim was able to break free and have a passerby call 911.

He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with injuries to his face and ribs.

The suspects remain on the loose.
