CHICAGO, Ill. (WPVI) -- Disappointing results so far for an FDA-approved pill to boost sexual desire for some women.

A new study shows flibanserin, sold under the brand name Addyi, is only providing a marginal benefit.

And the side effects may be more frequent than expected.

The report, in Journal of the American Medical Association, says one in three users reported side effects including dizziness, sleepiness, nausea and fatigue.

Some side effects were 4 times more frequent than in those taking a placebo pill.

The JAMA report also criticized the quality of the studies done on Addyi.

The authors noted that studies on the impact of alcohol on daily users of the pill were done with men.
