PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney plans to ask for $1.1 million in his budget to equip 800 more police officers with body cameras.

The department is already running a small pilot program to test the devices.

Kenney wants City Council to fund half of the cost, and will seek grants and donations to pay for the rest.
