Abington 7th-grader headed to Geography Bee

ABINGTON, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Montgomery County junior high student is headed to the state Geography Bee.

Alexander Kubel is a 7th-grader at Abington Junior High School.

He's one of the highest-scoring students on the National Geographic Society's qualifying test in Pennsylvania.

Alexander will compete against 99 others next month for a spot in the National Bee - and a trip to Washington.
