Tiffany Williams says her only child DeAndre Bing was her best friend.

"Everybody that met us was like 'ya'll got the perfect relationship,' " said Williams. "That was my best friend. He was my best friend, and I was his best friend."

In January 2015, the 17-year-old had plans to visit his friend's new baby in North Philadelphia.

"He got out of school. He texted me, he's like, 'mom I'm going to see the baby.' I said OK. I texted him 'OK,' " said Williams. "And that was the last time that we communicated."

Just before 6 p.m., police were called to the 2000 block of Lambert Street for reports of a person with a gun.

There they found DeAndre suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

"That was one of my biggest fears raising my son in this day and time," said Williams. "That was my biggest fear that something would happen to my son out here in these streets."

Bing died an hour later at the hospital.

"It just changed my whole world - January 23," said Williams. "I never thought it would be the last day that I seen my son alive."

The City of Philadelphia is offering up to $20,000 for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Citizens Crime Commission at 215-546-TIPS. All calls will remain anonymous.

"If anybody knows anything, please, please contact police," said Williams. "That was my world, my only child."
