Some future female voters received an encouraging message from the first female mayor of Hamilton Township, New Jersey.

Mayor Kelly Yaede visited Grice Middle School Wednesday, in honor of Women's History Month.

She spoke about the important strides women have made and reflected on her journey to becoming an elected official.

She also wants the girls to know there are no limits on what they can accomplish saying: "You have to overcome some obstacles to achieve your goals. however in this day and age, women can be anything that they choose to be. and hopefully, being an example of that as the first female mayor, will propel them to be involved in political office"

The republican mayor was re-elected in November to four more years in office.
