Man found shot in the chest in North Philadelphia

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are trying to determine what sparked a late night shooting that has left a man hospitalized suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

Officers were called out to the 2900 block of North Reese Street around 11:15 Friday night where the victim was found lying near a home.

He was taken by medics to Temple University Hospital suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police have not released any additional information.
