FELTONVILLE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in the city's Feltonville section.

It was around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when a 25th District officer on routine patrol heard gunfire coming from nearby.

At the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Rising Sun Avenue in the parking lot of a Rite Aid the officer encountered a large crowd running from the scene.

The officer also observed a male in a Silver Nissan exiting the parking lot at a high rate of speed and pulled his cruiser in front of the driver, stopping him.

Other arriving officers soon discovered a 24-year-old male lying in the parking lot of the Rite Aid suffering from a gunshot wound. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police say he had about 30 bags of crack cocaine on him at the time.

Officers also say they took another man into custody after finding guns and drugs in his car. But it is not clear if he is considered a suspect in this shooting.
