Philadelphia Police have charged a second suspect for a double murder in the West Kensington section of the city.

Philadelphia Police have charged a second suspect for a double murder in the West Kensington section of the city.

Angel Montanez, 19, of the 3200 block of North Hancock Street, surrendered with his attorney on March 17th, police said on Monday. He is charged with two counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and related offenses.

His arrest follows that of 19-year-old Ativa Jackson of the 100 block of West Wishart Street. Montanez was identified as a suspect after Jackson was arrested on March 10th. Jackson is also charged with two counts of murder.

Officers were called to the scene around 5:48 p.m. on Sunday, January 3rd in the 100 block of West Wishart Street.

There they found three shooting victims.

47-year-old Richard DaVilla and 21-year-old Raul Rodriguez were both found on the street suffering gunshot wounds. They were taken to Temple University hospital where both were pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old boy was found in a nearby home with a gunshot wound to the face. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
