Officer injured in crash while responding to call in Kensington

A 24th District police cruiser was involved in a crash in Philadelphia's Kensington section on Monday.

The crash happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of C and Somerset streets.

The officer was responding to a call for a foot pursuit when the officer's cruiser collided with another vehicle. The cruiser then slid sideways, and came to rest against another vehicle.

One police officer was injured in the crash and was taken by paramedics to Episcopal Hospital in stable condition.

So far, there is no word on what led to the crash.
