NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- A trucker has been cited following a crash involving two big rigs on Thursday morning in Glasgow, Delaware.
The accident happened around 4:24 a.m. at the intersection of Delaware Route 896 southbound and US Route 40.
Police say one truck, driven by 57-year-old James T. Williams of Goldsboro, North Carolina, was slowing down at the intersection when it was rear ended by the other truck, driven by 41-year-old Javier Alvarez of Miami, Florida.
The impact of the crash sent both trucks 650 feet into the intersection.
Williams was not injured. Alvarez suffered minor injuries, but refused treatment, police said.
Alvarez was cited by troopers with inattentive driving and no proof of motor vehicle insurance.
The intersection was closed for more than five hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
