Police say a postal worker was struck and killed in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA -- Police say a postal worker was struck and killed in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:05 p.m. Friday on the 7300 block of Lindbergh Boulevard.

Police say a 64-year-old man was crossing the street when he was struck by a white 2001 Mitsubishi, operated by an 18-year-old male driver.

The victim was not in the crosswalk at the time of the incident, police say.

After observing the accident, a 47-year-old female driver of a 2005 White Kia Sorrento attempted to avoid the victim, causing her to strike the rear of the Mitsubishi.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

Police AID is investigating.
