SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The parking lot at the Wells Fargo Center filled up Sunday with fans wearing the Fighting Irish green or Carolina blue, some so excited they showed up four hours before the game to tailgate.

"We left at 3:45 in the morning, 10-hour drive, rolled into our hotel, started drinking shortly thereafter and came over to the stadium," said Erik Adams, Notre Dame student. "It was worth every penny."

"Always been a Carolina fan, Jordan Worthy, Dean Smith," said Russ Taylor, North Carolina fan.

"One of our buddies texted and said he had tickets in the lower level for face value so we thought it was a good opportunity," said Chris Jaques, North Carolina grad.

"I'm hoping to see another smashing, like they did in the ACC Tournament," said Dave Keeler, North Carolina fan.

"I would like to see a good game. I'm hoping that Notre Dame can hang in there," said Jeff Walsh, Notre Dame fan. "I know it's unlikely, but I think they're gonna hang tough."

We asked fans if this is the new norm for celebrating Easter?

"Absolutely. A Tar Hill win can't be any better," said Michael Ryan, Audubon, Pennsylvania.
