RITTENHOUSE SQUARE (WPVI) -- It was a bunny bonanza Sunday as hopping hares helped kick off the Philadelphia Easter Promenade.

Donning an elaborate bonnet, Henri David returned as MC.

"It's a chance to dress up, and the little kids, that's the best!" said David.

As the Freedom Band played, marchers bunny-hopped down South Street.

We even caught a bouncing Mayor Jim Kenney.

Action News' anchor Alicia Vitarelli and her daughter donned their Easter finest, along with hundreds of families for the event's 85th year.

"The weather's just so beautiful so I'm happy to be out today with my husband and daughter enjoying the holiday," said Nikita Marshall.

From an old tradition to a new one, the Bunny Express rolled into New Hope, Bucks County, for the first time.

Families boarded a vintage train with special guest conductor the Easter Bunny himself, who passed out treats.

Meanwhile, in New Castle, Delaware, parents and their well-dressed little ones participated in the Lions Club annual Easter Parade on the Green.

Some tikes wore flannel, others a little frill and even fur.

And although it was chilly, the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey, was packed.

Families enjoying time together, a bit of ice cream and half-priced ride tickets.

"We usually come every Easter. Make it an annual trip to ride rides, get tickets for the season and walk the boardwalk," said Rebecca Reese.

We found an Action News fan wearing our favorite Easter bonnet of the day.

"Ocean City is really fun," said Jessica Buckley. "It's even better on Easter because I get to spend it with my family and cousins."
