Arsonist sought in Cobbs Creek porch fire

COBBS CREEK (WPVI) -- Police are searching for the firebug who torched the front porch of a home in the Cobbs Creek section of Philadelphia.

A woman inside a home on the 1000 block of South 60th Street called police around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday saying her porch was on fire.

She was afraid she would be trapped inside her home.

Firefighters arrived to the scene and quickly put out the blaze. The woman escaped unharmed.

The woman told police, a family member set the porch on fire.

Police and the fire marshal are investigating.
