Philadelphia police officers on patrol may have kept a burning home from becoming a tragedy in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood.

Philadelphia police officers on patrol may have kept a burning home from becoming a tragedy in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood.

They discovered smoke pouring from a home around 4:15 a.m. Saturday on the 2400 block of North Stanley Street.

Officers immediately called firefighters who quickly arrived.

Fire crews rescued a woman hanging from a window, yelling for help.

She was taken to Temple University Hospital, and treated for smoke inhalation. She is expected to make a full recovery.

No word on what caused the blaze.
